Huge swaths of the world enjoys new potatoes. It’s about time that Australians also share the delightful taste. There is nothing better than feasting on some Jersey Royals and a knob of butter. 

The Potato Liberation Front of Australia ( the newPLFA) are taking action in the on-going campaign to bring equality and justice to the potato section of our supermarkets. An anonymous spokesperson for the newPLFA said,” This is just another example of ageism in our society. New potatoes just don’t get a chance, it’s just not fair. They can’t even get any real-estate on the supermarket shelves. It’s like the potato buyers for the supermarkets have a chip on their shoulder. Once upon a time all the old potatoes were new potatoes, so we know they exist, they are out there, they are just forced underground.”

The spokesperson finished the interview with the all-so-familiar battle cry that we have recently heard from the general public through the aisles of the supermarket beomouths. 

“What do we want?”

“New potatoes!”

“When do we want them?”

”Lunch or Supper” (but not both)

.... and as soon as possible - by the end of 2019 (or early 2020 if that’s possible).
