The Issue
Recently, Woolworths failed in providing a safe and secure shopping environment to Asian shoppers. Everyone, including Asians, should feel safe to shop in your stores. Until you come up some resolutions to protect your Asian shoppers in the store, otherwise we won't come and buy in Woolworths!
Woolworths, you NEED to do something!
We are asking the general public to BOYCOTT Woolworths until they take the following actions:
1) Woolworths needs to make an official apology statement to the Asian shoppers who being assaulted in the videos below.
2) We demand Woolworths address their security issues in failing to provide enough security guards or staffs to handle their customers who misbehaved and abusive to other shoppers.
3) Woolworths needs to develop future action plans and provide their staff with enough education and training to improve their employees' ability to handling misbehaved and rude customers professionally. e.g. contact security guard, or Police to remove misbehaved and abusive customers who are causing troubles to other shoppers. Woolworths is responsible for ensuring their shoppers have a safe, violence-free and discrimination-free shopping environment.
Woolworths is one of the largest Australian company, and many Aussies grew up with this brand. Therefore, Woolworths should be a symbol representing the Australian culture and providing fair and cultural inclusiveness shopping experiences, as well as a safe shopping environment for every shopper from all backgrounds.
We recognize that this boycott will not impoverish Woolworths. But along with other Asians' resistance efforts nationwide, we think this will demonstrate how much we disagree and unsatisfied with the way Woolworths handled those incidences appeared in videos below. We want Woolworths to know that you are losing the Asian-Aussie's support unless you have addressed the above issues.
