Petition in Support of a Designated Off-Leash Dog Area at Woodland Park

To: Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation

We, the undersigned residents, park users, and community members, respectfully request that the Vancouver Park Board consider establishing a designated off-leash dog area within Woodland Park.

Woodland Park is an important neighbourhood park that serves a diverse community. A thoughtfully designed off-leash dog area would provide a safe and appropriate space for dogs to exercise and socialize while supporting responsible pet ownership, reducing conflicts between park users, and enhancing recreational opportunities for local residents.

We believe a designated off-leash area would:

• Provide a safe, accessible space for dogs and their owners.

• Support responsible and predictable use of park space.

• Promote physical activity, social connection, and community well-being.

• Help accommodate the needs of a growing and diverse neighbourhood.

• Complement existing park uses while maintaining access for all visitors.

We encourage the Vancouver Park Board to work with residents and stakeholders to identify a suitable location and design for a designated off-leash dog area at Woodland Park.
