Many women who lifeguard, throughout DPR, have complaints about our mandatory swimsuits. The swimsuits have caused rashes, yeast infections, are very tight, and uncomfortable. These are also not size inclusive for taller women or women with large chests. Other pools outside of DPR have different uniforms for women, which are size inclusive and don’t cause them discomfort. Possible uniforms for DPR employees could consist of a bikini top and bottom which cover what is needed to be covered or an option for a bikini top and spandex shorts. Overall due to these health issues, not being size inclusive, and discomfort, we believe lifeguards should have a voice in what we get to wear for our uniforms when working for DPR.
