We are thrilled to see the FDA is removing many of the Black box warnings on HRT. Dr Makary talked about the Flawed study in 2002 which led to these erroneous warnings.  Furthermore. Dr Makary said, " There may be no other medication in the modern era that can improve the health outcomes of women on a population level than Hormone Replacement Therapy". We have over the last few months held meetings with Dr Priya Laloo of the MOH and Dr Surjusingh, Director of Womens Health asking for their support in adding these drugs to the Formulary. We have written to the Permanent Secretary asking for his support in helping local pharmaceutical companies to quickly register modern HRT. We hope that our own Ministry of Health and Food and Drug Board will acknowledge this FDA announcement and register Transdermal Estradiol and Micronised progesterone in Trinidad and Tobago and add these drugs to the national Formulary.

Please continue to spread the word.
