Wodonga Dog Rescue is a non-for-profit organisation that was established to rescue and rehome dogs from the Albury Wodonga and surrounding regions. Wodonga Dog Rescue is managed and operated by dedicated and selfless volunteers who strive to 'do it for the dogs.' Every day, these selfless and passionate volunteers care for the animals and raise money towards desexing, vaccinating and feeding for all of the dogs and cats currently in care. Each month, Wodonga Dog Rescue rehomes approximately 20 dogs and cats to loving homes that would have otherwise been put to sleep. The Wodonga Council has announced that the Wodonga pound will be closing and as a result Wodonga Dog Rescue has no where to go and no where to care for the influx of animals. If we do not save Wodonga Dog Rescue, place animals in foster care and rehome them, countless animals will be put to sleep. We need you to sign this petition to save Wodonga Dog Rescue. We need you to save Wodonga Dog Rescue so the many abandoned animals yet to come into care can find loving forever homes. We the undersigned, being residents/rate payers in the Shire of Wodonga do hereby request Council to allow Wodonga Dog Rescue to utilise the Pound facility under a tenancy agreement to enable Wodonga Dog Rescue to continue the very valued and productive services of rehoming abandoned dogs and cats. This tenancy agreement would encapsulate the excellent reputation and rehoming figures that Wodonga Dog Rescue have attained throughout the years they have worked at the Pound in minimal fees and utility costs.
