MORE MUSIC, LESS TALK!

Over the past 37 years, the radio show NEW SOUNDS on WNYC radio has become an essential part of life in New York (and around the world for those listening online). Living up to the simple but powerful idea embodied in its title, host John Schaefer has consistently provided the only platform introducing genre-busting music that people wouldn't otherwise hear. 

Now WNYC is cancelling NEW SOUNDS because they believe that listeners want "More Talk, Less Music." On most days, NEW SOUNDS is the only music show on the station. How is it that the station can't spare one hour out of a 24-hour broadcast day for this crucial program? I could never count the numerous artists I have discovered on NEW SOUNDS. It is tragic that future listeners will be deprived of this opportunity. Please sign this petition to save NEW SOUNDS.
