Rally Against Animal Cruelty

The Issue

South Carolina is the 45th state in the nation when it comes to Animal Cruelty laws.  Many House Representatives in the Agricultural committee recently killed the Bill S841 that would give SC reasonable animal cruelty laws. This new bill will make cruelly tethering a dog a misdemeanor, upon conviction, can be imprisoned up to 90 days or fined up to $1000. Obviously that doesn't seem like enough punishment but it's a start. There is a rally taking place in Columbia at the State House on Saturday, June 9th from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm in order to help pass this bill.  Many people won't be able to attend but you can still sign this petition that will go straight to a House Representative.  Thank you all for the support!
