My request to WOTC: Your idea submissions policies need improvement. There is so much potential here! D&D has a massive, incredibly devoted community of fans. These fans are already pumping out loads of homebrew content, and some of it is legitimately amazing. If you let the best homebrew creators help with the design of your products, it could fix a lot of problems. Allow me to elaborate with an example: anyone can see, plain as day, that you're having trouble making the artificer. Even with two separate drafts (via Unearthed Arcana) of the class, neither one is anywhere close to finished. If someone submitted a finished, absolutely perfect attempt at it, would you accept it, playtest it, and publish it (if satisfactory)? How would one even go about submitting such a thing, when there are so few resources to do so? Your main advice for game submissions is "find a publisher to publish it as third party content", which is NOT ACCEPTABLE! Your main advice for book submissions is "we're closed", which is NOT ACCEPTABLE! You need to start listening to your community, because one small team of designers can't do everything.
