Save 91 yr old War Veteran Patrick Churchill’s Allotment in Witney

Save 91 yr old War Veteran Patrick Churchill’s Allotment in Witney
The Issue
Patrick Churchill is a much loved and treasured resident in Witney. At 91 years old, he is a WWII veteran and one of Witney’s eldest residents to still have an allotment.
Last week, he was told that he had two weeks to tidy up his allotment or he will be evicted.
With the help of the community his allotment has been tidied and he has decided to go down to half a plot so that it is more manageable for him.
Today though, Witney Allotment Association has sent a letter of eviction to Mr Churchill which comes into force with immediate effect.
It was the allotment that brought Mr Churchill ‘back to health’ after returning from conflict in the Second World War and it is the allotment that is keeping him in health at 91 years of age.
This has caused much stress and distress to Mr Churchill and his family and we ask that the Witney Allotment Association and Witney Town Council (legally responsible for allotment provision) reconsider this eviction immediately and revoke it so that this old gardener can continue to enjoy his plot for years to come with the support of his friends and family.
