Suspension of mobile data and broadband internet has impacted the local business owners and  many IT/BPO/MNCs employees who are working from home post Covid.

Many such salaried youths have lost their job due to non productivity while many have to go out of Manipur and take temporary shelters in Guwahati, Kolkata, Bengaluru or other cities spending huge money and separated from the aged parents and their kids. At the same time, parents and guardians are not able to transfer money to their wards who are studying outside Manipur. They are running out of money for their food and other expenses. 

While it is important to control spread of rumors, news through internet to  bring back the normalcy in Manipur, we also need to look at alternative solutions. 

1. Blocking of all social media apps like Whatsapp, Telegram, Instagram, Youtube etc or any other file sharing apps in Firewall by Internet Service Provider for Manipur regions is very much possible. Both broadband and mobile data can be open for people by blocking these apps which will allow basics like works,  netbanking, UPI transactions etc.

2. As a solution for Business owners and employees alone who depends on internet heavily, broadband should be open with declaration to be made that no files, hatred & rumor would be shared using the internet/IP address allocated to them. If not followed, a huge penalty to be paid.
