Did You Know . . . . . . Kohler-Andrae State Park has over 400,000 visitors each year? . . . Kohler Company wants to build a championship golf course on property just north of the Park? . . . the proposed golf course and related construction will destroy rare wetlands, dunes, endangered species, and animal habitat, as well as 50 % of the Forest? . . .the proposed golf course will pollute Lake Michigan, the already impaired Black River and draw down neighborhood wells. . . . Kohler Company was required to write an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the public and the DNR, as well as fill out an application and be approved for a Wetland Permit before they can begin construction? . . .The DNR approved filling in 47 out of 67 globally rare and irreplaceable wetlands? . . . the DNR gave Kohler Company 5 acres of YOUR State Park for the proposed golf course’s maintenance, chemical & fuel storage and parking lots? . . . the Friends of the Black River Forest (FBRF) has been informing the public about the impacts of this proposed golf course for 4 ½ years? . . .
