The Outagamie County Landfill is unique out of the many landfill sites in Wisconsin in that it is in close proximity to the surrounding residential neighborhoods. This has a detrimental effect on those residents who are constantly being exposed to noxious odors, windblown refuse, excessive noise, truck traffic and environmental health hazards. Therefore we oppose the expansion of the landfill to the new North West site and demand the closure of the entire landfill site when the North East cell is complete. With the Tri-County agreement it is Brown County's turn to start taking our trash, and for Outagamie County to discontinue taking  any trash. We have tried working with the county to resolve the issues to no avail and if the expansion takes place, these issues will only increase. We as residents are very concerned about this situation and believe it is time to close this facility.
