Here in Eastham village we are plagued by speeding motorists going up and down Ferry road. I am petitioning the local council to add some traffic calming measures by Christopher Drive where motorists speed up on approach to the blind bend.  In addition to this, to close Bankfield road with the barrier that is already present to stop huge wagons, trucks and speeding motorists from using it as a short cut through a conservation village. They should use the access off the motorway and away from the residential area.

This would reduce speed and noise from speeding vehicles. It would be a safer environment for pedestrians,  cyclists and animals. It would eliminate the road being used for racing by cars and bikes travelling at speed. It would protect the conservation area and prevent the village being used as a short cut.

There have been many many animals killed on this road. I have lost two cats in eight months which is totally heart breaking and it is only a matter of time before it is a child. I do not intend to stop until action is taken as I sincerely believe residents in the village and Ferry road deserve to be safe and allowed to have pets and children outside without constant worry of bikes and cars travelling at such speed. Also to protect health from the unnecessary pollution from the use of wagons, lorries and trucks.
