Judith Grier started this petition to Wirral council

Wirral Council has stated that people walking will take priority when using our streets, yet there are no safe crossing points on this busy main road. This is a vital route that many residents, old and young, use each day to access our much loved green space - Storeton Woods.

We live in a time where people are struggling both with physical and mental health.  Accessing our beautiful green spaces with ease is absolutely vital.  We also must address poor air quality and the climate emergency.  Enabling people to take short journeys on foot needs to be made safe and convenient as a matter of urgency.

We call on Wirral Council to consult with highways engineers to investigate the most suitable type of pedestrian crossing for various points along Mount Road; in particular where Mount Road meets Marsh Lane, the crossroads at the Traveller's Rest and Brackenwood Road/Red Hill Road.

Wirral Council must make good on their commitment to walking.  Make this road safe to cross!
