The Issue

By signing this petition you are asking Wirral Borough Council to resume maintaining Hoylake beach by raking.
We do not support continued use of weed killer on the beach and point to wildlife currently on the beach is the result of the beach being raked for decades, no harm will befall any creatures by raking.

So we ask to simply restore the golden sand amenity beach Hoylake has enjoyed and been famous for since 1900.

Hoylake Residents, local businesses, visitors and local sports and vital services will suffer the consequences of further neglect and all have expressed concern for the current sorry state the beach has deteriorated into.

As the situation stands today Nov 2019 the council have suspended beach maintenance while consulting on a new beach policy for 2020, this may or may not include raking and so loss of the beach as we formerly knew it if raking is not resumed.

Thank you for your support.

David GilbertsonPetition StarterResident in Hoylake since 1988, 50 yards from beach. I created this petition as it was clear that Hoylake voices ( & anyone else who cares about this beach) were not being heard or thought of in local council beach policy. Democracy must prevail!
