Good news: Council has approved a new crosswalk at the corner of Windsor Road and Transit Road, along with curb extensions and additional paving on the playground side to make it more accessible.  They have also approved the marking of crosswalks at all four corners of the intersection of Newport Avenue and Currie Road.  Staff have indicated the work will be completed this winter.  More information is available in this report.

Many of you feel strongly that additional traffic calming (like a pedestrian activated light or additional stop signs) should also be added at the intersection of Windsor & Transit.  Council has indicated that they remain open to doing so in the future.  I encourage you to write to mayor and council urging them to do so now: obcouncil@oakbay.ca
