The Issue

As Rusty's feeder and caregiver, his sudden disappearance from his colony
has shaken those who loved him dearly and cared for him.  Rusty, the orange/white cat is a cherished community cat who
was unjustly stripped away from his home along with his buddy, Tilly the tabby.

This action is not only utterly heartbreaking for those who loved him, but also puts Rusty under immense stress physically, as well as Tilly.  Both cats lived in a small colony with other cats who can’t understand where their buddies are.

The colony is in the back area of a retail outlet with many of the employees invested in the care of this colony, they too are upset with this catnapping.  The colony is a large grassy area backing onto a dense bush area that the cats sought refuge when strangers appear.  There are 3 shelters and an insulated feeding shelter.

Community cats like Rusty form strong bonds with their outdoor territories, creating intimate relationships much like how we connect with our own  homes.  It is a little known fact that relocation can be extremely distressing  for these cats, leading to detrimental impacts on their well-being.

In spite of Rusty’s health complications, he was receiving appropriate medical care from a veterinarian, proving that his well being was not being  neglected.

Rusty’s ordeal represents a broader issue with how community cats are often misjudged, misunderstood, and mistreated.  Therefore, we implore whoever took him to rectify this wrong and return Rusty and Tilly to their outdoor home, where they belong.

Through this petition, we aim to raise awareness about the vital importance of compassion and respect for community cats everywhere.

Please stand with us in this cause, for Rusty and for every community cat that calls their outdoors their home.  Sign this petition to return Rusty and Tilly to their territory and help us make a difference.

Reward offered for the information and return of both Rusty and Tilly is $800.   Tips have place the cats in Windsor - Leamington  and Dutton Ontario, 81 miles from Windsor.

Many people are involved in the effort to bring Rusty & Tilly back to their colony....please share this reward notification.  Someone knows!
