Reinstate the WIN News Mackay local bulletin

The issue

Attention: Andy Vautier

The Mackay, the Whitsundays and the Coalfields television area serves a population of approximately 200,000 people.

Cutting the WIN News bulletin removes the competition for local news in the area and alienates the city of Mackay from other cities in Queensland who all get to enjoy their local WIN News bulletin.

The addition of WIN News to Mackay 6 years ago added much needed competition into the local news market and over those last 6 years has grown in following.

This decision is a massive stab in the back from WIN Television to the Central Coast and the Whitsundays communities.

This decision has cut the jobs of journalists and camera operators in the local area leaving them unemployed or in some cases forcing them to move away from their homes to find work with your company in other far away cities.
