We are proposing a change of the metal fence surrounding the allotment neighbouring South Wilts Grammar School to a wired wildlife-friendly fence. The type of fence currently installed can pose a danger to deer and other wildlife as they can become entangled, causing them distress and potential death if they are not helped. Even if they manage to escape, these fences can cause them injuries which can get infected and cause further damage to the animal. Not too long ago, I was on a walk when I  found a distressed deer caught in the sharp metal fence. It was getting progressively more agitated and had a large cut to its abdomen. Fortunately, I managed to help the deer get free, but in order to prevent this from occurring again, the fence needs to be changed to a more animal friendly fencing that would allow wildlife to coexist with the allotments and neighbouring areas more seamlessly and would prevent rodents from infesting the allotments.
