The bridge alone is simply not equipped to handle the heavy traffic of all students traveling between buildings.  It was created as a secondary route to the library/D-wing, not as a primary passage.  The amount of congestion both on the bridge and on the staircase in the D-wing are causing students to be late to class, and disrupting the learning experience of Wilton High School Students.  

We realize the purpose of this rule is to "ensure the safety of the school community"; however this is done at the expense of the academic well-being of the student body.  

Additionally, as the temperature rises, allowing students to get a brief break from their educational struggles with a little fresh air and sunshine will be a benefit to their focus and participation in the classroom. 

Relocating the campus supervisors currently guarding the entrances to the school to supervise the passage of students between buildings would alleviate this issue as well as ensuring the safety of our school community.
