New Skateplaza for Wilson North Carolina

New Skateplaza for Wilson North Carolina
The Issue
For 12 years Toisnot Skatepark has provided an encouraging atmosphere for the citizens of Wilson County and surrounding areas. It has been a place where people of all ages, and cultural backgrounds have gone to participate in social, physical, and team building exercises.
Despite it's constricting layout and rough concrete, skateboarders and other extreme sportsmen still call Toisnot Skatepark home. With the unfortunate side effects of hurricane Matthew the park was left underwater for 1.5 days. The ramp surfaces have became water logged and soft and not as skate-able as before.
Skateboarding culture is growing rapidly, even finding it's way into the Olympics, and every other part of the world! Toisnot Skatepark has become outdated, and a bigger and better facility would be just what Wilson County needs to maintain all of the benefits that skateboarding has to offer. A professionally built concrete plaza that requires very little maintenance would not only be appealing to the eye, it would improve tourism and increase the moral of the citizens young and old.
