My name is Brian Alexander McDonald and I am a 17-year-old autistic former student of Johnson High School which is located in Hall County, Georgia and I'm making this petition to ask the people of my community for help in receiving justice and attempting to make sure another student of Johnson High School never has to worry about the safety of their information again. Last year I moved schools and began my first year at Johnson High School, things were ok and I never really had any issues with anybody and if I did have a problem I had a paraprofessional that I was comfortable with telling my issues to but since I did so well last year they determined that I was fit to do everything all on my own and I was excited to take one more step forward into leading a normal life. That was until I encountered administrative asistant Brian Thomason, I already didn't have a good opinion of Brian Thomason since he had a reputation around the school for being a rude and sexist member of staff who liked to harass young girls for any outfit that he personally considered to be inappropriate and I had also witnessed him aggressively reprimanding students for small things such as losing their school ID and not being able to afford to purchase a new one. My first personal encounter with him was last year when he interrigated me for arriving to school late but never gave me the opprtunity to explain to him that I have arrived late everyday because I rode the special ed bus and it arrived late everyday. My second encounter with him was at the beginning of this year when I was standing up in the lunch room next to a table talking to my friend and he came over and agressivley reprimanded me for not sitting in a seat, I wasnt blocking anybodies way or breaking any rules but he decided to pick on me regardless of those facts that same day I had my 3rd encounter with him while waiting for my bus, It was raining extremely hard and I was soaking wet, I walked around looking for the bus with my number on it but I had no succes in finding it because there was a bus change but I wasn't informed of this bus change so I stood and waited for it because I assumed it had not arrived yet, he came over asked me for my bus number and proceded to yell at me when I told him it,  this is the first year Ive ever riden a regular ed bus so it was very different for me. my 4th encounter with himI  had gotten into a verbal confrontation with another student for what I thought was him saying that he would have relations with my girlfriend but turned out to be him talking about a different woman all together which is still not ok, you should never talk about a person you are not romantically involved with in that way and you should never speak about someone like that in general in a school. I ended up being sent to the office to explain the situation to him, As soon as I got in there he was trying to intimidate me push his personal moral beliefs onto me instead of letting me do what I came up there to do, I ended up being sent home and suspended  for 2 days and that was that for a good bit. Now the 5th encounter , I had been informed that he was telling my girlfriends mother personal information about me and my past inside the school system which is illegal under FERPA , I admit I made a mistake by getting into that verbal confrontation but Im only human and what I did wasn't Illegal, I admit I got into many fights in the 6th grade but can you really judge a man based off of getting into fights when he was 11 years old , He told my girlfriends mother that I was unstable and that is something I am far from I worked so hard to overcome my personal problems and to try to become the first in my family besides my uncle to graduate from high school, I excersise everyday, I have a passion for learning, not only did he break the law but he gossiped about me to his neighbors and tried to tarnish my good name, I approached him and told him to keep my name out of his mouth and that was all I had to say but he decided to follow me and try to engage with me so I told him not play with me to go play with his little brother out in Smithfield, North Carolina, the pricipal Johnathan Edwards came and brought me to his office and where I had explained the the situation my mother had already explained to him over the phone in more detail, I was sent home and then I hear that hes still illegally spreading my information so I send him a text message telling him to leave me alone and was later expelled, Its too late for me I've already been expelled but Im asking for you help to make sure he never does this to another student again.
