My daughter Riley is nine and has Down Syndrome. A few weeks ago Riley began her new "special" class for the 2020-2021 school year . She went from a classroom with one teacher and twelve students (her included) to her new classroom with one teacher and TWENTY students!!   How does this happen you ask??? It happens due to the fact most parents are not aware their voices count! There are 20 students with one teacher and just one aide. 

Children who require a Special Education Classroom need it to be a SMALL and PERSONAL classroom. Children with special needs excel best when classes have  a maximum of 12 students per TEACHER (not teacher's aides)! 

Riley, along with many children like Riley, are already "behind the game of school"  as it is. To throw them in a big class is useless for everyone. They are lost in a big class. They are not able to focus and learn as they would in a small class. I mean, come on, its common sense!

I am looking for signatures from all across the world to show how important it is to keep the Special Education classrooms SMALL! We need the people who have the power to make this happen TO PLEASE CARE and make these changes to Chapter 14 of the PA School Code for us!
