House Bill 2325 of WV is a deregulation bill. This bill has been fast tracked with no understanding how it will effect the Beauty Industry and consumers.

House Bill 2325 was substituted on February 22 to prevent the Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists from regulating the use, application, or administration, by unlicensed persons whether for compensation or not of hair, nail, skin, and other beauty products that are commonly available as retail, consumer products.

The Bill also wants to end the need for continuing education after you finish school in order to renew your license. After you finish your training and become a licensed professional it is crucial to continue your education. Furthering your education on the prevention of spread disease and sanitation practices is highly effective 

 Licensed professionals (Barber, Cosmetologist, Esthetician) have been trained to prevent any risks significantly through the use of proper infection control standards required by the WV state regulatory licensing rules and regulations.

Once deregulation occurs to one state it will just continue to spread to other. No matter how small. We need to band together and STOP deregulation.
