Natural England must not licence the badger cull

The Issue

Natural England will soon make a decision to allow the badger culls to go ahead this year in Gloucestershire and Somerset. They are refusing to take advice from the Chief Vet Mr.Nigel Gibbens who has recently said in an open letter that the cull company must come up with a viable plan to reach it's targets this year after the first two years failed.

Natural England instead of following due process and waiting for the Chief Vet's decision have been telling the press that the letters of authorisation are
"a formality"
This is outrageous as the failure of the previous culls means that the company is in breach of its licence to kill badgers and they must come up with a very robust and believable plan AT THE VERY LEAST to lawfully be allowed to continue killing a protected species.

We want to see an end to all the killing and although this may seem like a technicality it is absolutely vital that we don't allow Natural England to rubber stamp another year of culling.

Please contact them as a matter of urgency demanding that they listen to the Chief Vets advice from this year and have a very stringent review of the cull companies plan on how it will achieve this years target.
