The Polar Bears in the Arctic are experiencing a severe decline in numbers because of the effects of global climate change on their habitat of sea ice.  They depend on sea ice for habitat and food for survival.  If the Earth and the Arctic continue to warm at this rate with no efforts to help conserve the polar bears the species will become endangered.  Polar bears are a key part to having a healthy ecosystem in the Arctic.  They are beautiful and strong animals that are a keystone species. They keep biological populations in balance, and are critical for an ecosystem to function.  They are at the apex of the food chain.  The loss of this species would effect any one who is a lover of the Earth, environment, and animals.
