Wikimedia Foundation to acknowledge 1984 Sikh Genocide
Wikipedia, Wikimedia Foundation continues to deny 1984 Sikh Genocide. Various attempts have been made to get Wikimedia to change the tittle of page “1984 Sikh Riots” to “1984 Sikh Genocide” but we The Sikhs, a minority in India continue to be ignored and brushed aside by Wikimedia Foundation.
Over 2 millions Sikhs have been murdered as the result of Antisikhmatism in the past century. From deployment of 400 thousand plus Punjabi Sikh Soldiers in WW1 and WW2 which resulted in 350 thousand plus dead to partition and dissolution of Punjabi Sikh’s homeland Punjab by Colonial British Empire and government of India which resulted in deaths of 1.1 million Punjabi Sikhs, to 1984 direct attack on Golden Temple Amritsar Punjab by Indian Army followed by government organized Genocide of Punjabi Sikhs in all over India, followed by one decade of extra judicial killings which resulted in murder of half a million Punjabi Sikhs, to continues repression of Punjabi Sikh culture, traditions and religion. Punjabi Sikhs have been victims of Antisikhmatism due to the unique identity and culture of Punjabi Sikhs. We ask the world community and social platforms to stand with us so we can bring an end to Antisikhmatism and protect the minorities and their cultures around the world.
