We the local residents feel the proposed application is an absolute disgrace. The land has and a tree protection order dated 1997 on the majority of the site.
There is a tree protection order line drawn across the site and i understood that it meant no trees could be touched within this boundary. I have noticed over the years that odd trees have been disappearing, freeing up floor space. This has obviously been a long term plan over the last decade.
I also understand there is a restriction in the deeds for the land which no5 and no6 occupies dated 1948 from the Right Honorable Robert Alexander Lindsay Earl of Crawford that restricts the land to be utilised for one single dwelling house only and has been passed through the chain of freeholders. Lawyers are investigating this currently.
The local area has huge historical significance. The surrounding area has green belt and preservation restrictions. From the grand entrance structure of plantation gates of Haigh Hall entrance via Wigan lane covering the whole area leading thorough the plantation of Haigh Hall.
The spread of this development not only sacrifices protected woodland but also taints the historical importance of the surrounding countryside.
Not only the main points above but the land is a heaven for wildlife with countless bats, deer, foxes, hedgehogs, newts, owls all of which i have photographic proof of on site which coincidentally has not been identified in the reports.
