There is a lack of public car parking in the centre of Standish, which is bad for shoppers, residents and local businesses.

The vast majority of car parking spaces are owned by private businesses and stores - so the general public has little right to use them.

We need Wigan Council to provide or facilitate a new car park for the general public that will adequately serve the existing and future needs of Standish centre - especially as the village's population set to increase by one third in the next decade. 

Standish Voice's Neighbourhood Plan survey found that 74% of respondents strongly agreed (49%) or agreed (25%) that a new car park was needed in the village centre.
