🚨 MAJOR UPDATE — THREE BIG WINS IN TWO DAYS 🚨
June 15-16, 2026 has been a historic moment for SH 46 West.
WIN #1 — BOERNE ISD PASSES UNANIMOUS RESOLUTION
On June 15, the Boerne Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously passed Resolution No. BISD-2026-1 formally urging TxDOT to accelerate the construction timeline for the funded safety improvements on SH 46 West. Signed by Board President Courtney Darter Bruce, Superintendent Dr. Kristin Craft, and attested by Board Secretary Sarah Faulkenberry — this resolution calls on TxDOT District Engineer Charles Benavidez, TxDOT Executive Director Marc Williams, and state legislators to move the January 2028 construction start date earlier. Boerne ISD school buses travel this road every day. Their board going on record says this is not just a commuter issue — it is a student safety issue.
This resolution would not have happened without the leadership of Boerne ISD Board Member Rich Sena. Rich took the time to review the safety data, draft the resolution, and personally forward it to the board president and superintendent. If you would like to thank him directly for his advocacy on behalf of the families on this road, please reach out to him at rich.sena@boerneisd.net. He deserves to hear from you.

WIN #2 — RUMBLE STRIPS INSTALLATION BEGINS
This morning, June 16, TxDOT contractors began installing pre-formed centerline rumble strips along the entire 11-mile corridor from IH-10 to SH 16. This is the first physical safety improvement ever installed on this road. Traffic is reduced to one lane with a pilot car through June 18. Please plan accordingly and drive carefully through the work zone.
WIN #3 — THE INSTITUTIONAL RECORD NOW STANDS AT THREE RESOLUTIONS
✅ Bandera County Commissioners Court — April 9, 2026
✅ Kendall County Commissioners Court — April 28, 2026
✅ Boerne ISD Board of Trustees — June 15, 2026
🔜 More institutional support in the works
WHERE WE STAND
The improvements are funded. The engineering is done. The rumble strips are going in now. The centerline buffer, jersey barriers, and intersection improvements begin construction in January 2028. We are pushing hard to move that date earlier and we need your help.
