Two major milestones are happening in the next three weeks and we need people in those rooms.

Both Bandera County and Kendall County Commissioners Courts have secured TxDOT presentations on SH 46 West safety improvements. Commissioner Troy Konvicka and Commissioner Jennifer McCall have both confirmed the dates and are encouraging anyone who cares about this road to attend and make their voice heard directly to TxDOT.

BANDERA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT TxDOT Presentation on SH 46 West  Wednesday, May 14, 2026 — 10:00 AM 📍 Bandera County Courthouse, Bandera, TX

KENDALL COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT TxDOT Presentation on SH 46 West  Tuesday, May 26, 2026 📍 Kendall County Courthouse, 201 East San Antonio Avenue, Boerne, TX — 3rd Floor

These are public meetings. You do not need an invitation. Show up, listen, and let TxDOT see firsthand how many people in this community are paying attention.

Here is what you need to know before you walk in.

TxDOT has committed to intersection improvements and a centerline buffer. Those are steps forward and we acknowledge them. But based on the crash data — sourced directly from TxDOT's own Traffic Safety Division — not one of the proposed improvements addresses the crash type that is killing people on this road.

101 of the 550 crashes on SH 46 West since 2016 involved vehicles traveling in opposite directions. Those 101 crashes produced 8 of the 13 deaths — 62% of all fatalities from less than 19% of all crashes. Every one of those deaths was caused by a driver crossing the center line into oncoming traffic on a road with nothing physical between opposing lanes of traffic. Not the intersection project, not the rumble strips, not the proposed centerline buffer — none of it stops that from happening.

That is what we need TxDOT to hear when they walk into those courtrooms.

If you would like more detail on the crash data or want to better understand what is being proposed and why it falls short, reach out directly. I am happy to share everything we have collected and walk you through it.
