The recently released N11/M11 J4 to J14 Improvement Scheme has been announced to the public in a public forum with a Preferred Option that completely ELIMINATES J10 DELGANY/DRUMMIN exit/junctions forcing those of us that live and frequent businesses in the area to use the exits at BRAY SOUTH or KILPEDDER to access our homes and the Village of Delgany.  Not only does this add traffic to already existing high volume roads, these roads are also impacted by school and commercial traffic and already find themselves at maximum capacity especially during critical times of the day like school dismissal and rush hour.  While other small exits are also eliminated in the plan, the inclusion of the J10 Delgany exit along with those adjustments does not make sense and we are organizing this petition to raise our concerns to the Wicklow County Council.  Submissions direct to the WCC are due on September 20, 2021.

At its best this will leave the Village of Delgany and its residents landlocked from access to the N11 along with what was bus access to Greystones and Bray from the Delgany Village Center.  Given the increase of resident population in Delgany, and more on the block for completion and approval in the coming months, we must make sure our voices are heard; that we are given more access (not less) and we are supporting access to our local businesses that benefit from the traffic flow through to Greystones and the surrounding areas.

This petition is to gather names and information to rally our objection to this idea and continue to inform the Delgany community of the new N11 proposal as it relates to the businesses and the community in this area. 

The discussion period is only through 20th of September so there is a great sense of urgency around organizing our voices.  As a group we should be looking at options of efficient public transport for our growing area, and also make sure that the decisions are referencing post-pandemic commuting habits.  We are unclear as to what problem this closure is solving - congestion is not happening at our junction point on a regular basis (while we all know what the backup at JCT 7 Bray South looks like on a regular basis).  We need answers and a more professional and detailed submission to understand the rationale behind this closure.
