Dear Alan Bell and Sandy Washburn,

In a few weeks The Town of LaGrange will be allowing a group called Moms for Liberty to hold a fundraiser at Freedom Park.

Moms for Liberty is a relatively new organization that has campaigned against against school curriculums that mention LGBT rights, race, and discrimination. Multiple chapters have also campaigned to ban from school libraries books that address gender and sexuality issues.

Members of the Dutchess County Chapter have been quoted publicly as saying:

"I have been fighting the LGBT Agenda from the moment I discovered it"

"What is it about gay sex that's pride worthy?"

"Gay Marriage is and always was about sexualizing children. Full stop."

We are truly disappointed to learn that a group who allows its members to regularly spew such horrible rhetoric - will be holding an event in our public park. A park is a space that should be a safe space for families of all races, gender identities and religions to enjoy our community.

We have started this petition to show our families, children, educators and local businesses that known seditionist groups with the intent to defund and overthrow our schools (and ultimately our government) are not welcome in our town.

We are grateful to our forefathers who assured Americans like ourselves that we would have the right to assemble granted through the first ammendment.

We intend to use this right during our planned peaceful protest that is scheduled for the same date/time/location.
