As most people know, schools have always had an issue with students wearing both hats and hoods, however, I haven't been able to find any logical reasons for why this is the case, some teachers and administrators say it is a safety hazard because you could hide contraband or something inappropriate but, if that is the case shouldn't we band anything with pockets or even ban purses? Meanwhile, some teachers and administrators believe it could make it difficult to identify a student because it covers your head but, isn't that what we have a student id card for? All in all, I would prefer to be allowed to wear my hat on school grounds because I wear it everywhere except inside of school or inside of church, I wear my hat because it feels better than going without and my head feels wrong without my hat on. To add to this, I know I am not the only one that feels this way most people in our FFA program would like to be able to wear their hats inside of our school grounds. I believe that it would be better if we just let people wear them instead of yelling at a student for even thinking about wearing a hat.
