Angeline Academy of Innovation currently does not have a football team, despite there being clear interest from students and the school community. Many students are interested in playing football, while others would be excited to attend and support games as fans. Without a football team, these students do not have the opportunity to represent their school through the sport they are passionate about.

The lack of a football team also means our school’s band does not have the opportunity to perform at football games. Our band has students who are eager to play in a live game-day environment and help create the school spirit and atmosphere that comes with high school football.

Another major issue is that Angeline Academy of Innovation has an artificial-turf football field at its athletics complex, but it is not being used for its intended purpose: football. Having a field capable of hosting football games while not having a football program leaves an important athletic resource underused.

Overall, the lack of a football team means Angeline Academy is missing an opportunity to provide students with another way to participate in athletics, give the band a place to perform, bring students and families together, and make full use of the athletic facilities already available to the school.
