AWESOME AWESOME! I love that we have people all around the world signing our petition. We've opened the eyes of so many who didn't even realize this was happening. While our petition has been challenged by many local people within the 4H Organization - we also have many local animal healthcare professionals and local and nationwide advocacy groups on our side! Please continue to spread the word on social media. I have tweeted several celebrities who are known animal advocates. I've reached out to many also on Facebook. I have not been able to get a stance, for or against, from anyone in the county who holds political office. We are told that this event brings in $10-$12k in 4H Fair revenue, and have offered multiple alternatives to bring in that amount, and possibly more money. We want Whitley County to be on the forefront of this movement, as we've seen many other county petitions started. Whitley County can be a leader, and find an alternative way to raise funds. We can set the precedent in the state, rather than pull this event only because everyone else is.
