Boddhisatya Tarafdar, Mrinmoy Banerjee, Supriyo Mukherjee, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s grandnieces Smt. Jayanti Rakshit, Smt. Tapati Ghosh, researchers Dr. Jayanta Choudhuri, Md. Ashraful Islam, journalist Anindya Das, members of Bharat Scouts & Guides Subrata Dey, Arunagshu Chakraborty, musician Soubhik Lahiri and T.H Sahaji would like to express that, this is a platform formed for a particular cause, one may be a part of this platform by participating in this online signature campaign. And, the cause is about demanding a full-fledged investigation or an enquiry by the Government of India to resolve the “mystery of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's disappearance”. This is very important as the people of independent India deserve to know, what had happened to Netaji, one of the greatest warriors of the Indian independence movement, after 1945 or when he disappeared. We have with us common citizens of India, Indians living in various parts of the world, citizens of various nations of South Asia & Southeast Asia, some members of Netaji's family, history-enthusiasts, researchers, activists and journalists, etc.

Key reasons for this demand:

1) The report of Justice Mukherjee Commission on Netaji’s disappearance though got rejected by Government of India in 2006, raised some significant questions on whether the plane crash happened or not in Taiwan and whether Netaji was cremated in Taiwan or not, as per the official records.

2) The email by the Taiwanese authorities stating about having no records about any plane crash on August 18, 1945 carrying Netaji in Taiwan near the Taipei airport, however, mentioning the fact that they have the record of a plane crash near the Taipei Airport in September, 1945, which was carrying few American prisoners of war. When the Mukherjee Commission visited Taiwan to investigate the matter the Taiwanese government officials also stated the same and confirmed the genuineness of the mentioned email.

3) In recent years, Netaji related various secret files were declassified by Govt. of India and Govt. of West Bengal. An important fact came out that Netaji’s family was under surveillance by Indian intelligence agencies or authorities for nearly twenty years after independence. This fact itself indicates that the Govt. agencies were in doubt about Netaji’s death in the alleged Air Crash in Taiwan in August, 1945.

The platform has launched an online signature campaign for anybody to give his/her consent on the above matter and on this basis finally the platform will write to the Honorable Prime Minister of India demanding a full-fledged investigation or an enquiry on the “mystery of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's disappearance”.
