Today all Justice Guardians are gathering at Taipei Court to rally in support of Ko Wen-je. After seven months of unjust detention, authorities have failed to present valid evidence while applying double standards in their accusations. This is not just about one man—it’s about the fight for fairness, democracy, and true justice in Taiwan.
We call on all supporters to stand united and demand an end to political persecution!

Ko Wen-je’s Statement – March 20, 2025
”Last spring, around April and May, the media sensationalized the Taipei Living Mall case. This is my first opportunity to fully explain myself. I have been detained incommunicado for seven months, completely cut off from the outside world. I haven’t had a chance to defend myself, yet I’ve been subjected to relentless smears—political, personal, and even moral. What’s worse, certain media outlets have manipulated public opinion using confidential investigative information.
But my integrity is clear—I have never engaged in profiteering for developers or corruption. I was a surgeon for 30 years and never once accepted any form of personal payment or gifts from my patients, even though it is a common cultural practice in Taiwan as a show of appreciation. I always upheld strict professional ethics. There is no reason I would now be involved in profiteering, corruption, or misappropriation of public funds.
We all want a united and harmonious Taiwan. But since President Lai Ching-te took office, the Legislative Yuan has only become more divided and confrontational, filled with endless disputes and distrust. Our task is to engage in rational debate based on the facts—not just for the sake of judicial fairness, but because it is the foundation of social justice and democracy.”
