Let Him Mourn – Justice for Ko Wen-je
Taiwan claims to be a democracy, yet its government has denied Ko Wen-je the most basic human right—to mourn his father’s passing.
For months, Ko has been detained without solid evidence, repeatedly denied bail, and stripped of his dignity. When his father passed away, his family scheduled the funeral for March 10—but the authorities refused to let him attend on that day, robbing him of his chance to say a final goodbye.
Ko was granted bail twice, yet due to a legal loophole that allows prosecutors to appeal indefinitely, his freedom was revoked again and again. This blatant abuse of power reveals just how far the system will go to silence him.
Meanwhile, a DPP parliament member under active investigation was granted bail immediately for just $30,000 USD—and was even seen attending a BBQ event hosted by President Lai Ching-te at the official residence of the Taiwan President.
If Ko is being detained under the pretext of preventing “statement collusion,” then why was a DPP official—who is also under investigation—allowed to dine with the President and other ruling party members? If political influence is a concern, wouldn’t socializing with the most powerful figure in Taiwan pose the real risk of statement collusion?
How is this justice? How can one man be denied the right to grieve, while another, facing allegations, enjoys a feast with the head of state?
This isn’t about justice. It’s about crushing political opposition.
We demand:
1️⃣ Let Ko Wen-je mourn. No government should have the power to deny a son his final goodbye.
2️⃣ End politically motivated detention. Ko must be released and granted a fair legal process.
3️⃣ Stop the double standards. If Taiwan is truly democratic, justice must apply equally to all.

讓柯文哲出席柯爸爸告別式—— 還給柯文哲公道！
台灣自詡為民主國家，卻殘忍地剝奪了柯文哲最基本的人權——送別父親的權利。
柯文哲被關押數月之久，沒有確切證據，無法交保，被剝奪了基本自由與尊嚴。當他的父親去世後，家人依照傳統習俗，選定 3 月 10 日舉行喪禮，但檢方卻不同意讓他決定何時出席，且拒絕讓他在當天參加父親告別式。這不只是對他的殘忍，更是對整個社會良知的踐踏。
柯文哲兩度獲准交保，但因為檢方利用法律漏洞，無限次數提出抗告，他隨即被重新收押。這種惡意濫權，充分暴露了整個司法系統如何被操控，只為了將他長期關押、封住異己的聲音。
然而，當柯文哲被剝奪與父親告別的機會時，民進黨的一位立法委員，目前正遭檢方調查，卻隨即僅以 3 萬美元交保，還出席了總統官邸內由賴清德總統主持的烤肉宴會，席間還有數十位的民進黨立委參加，這一場景還被拍攝並公開報導。
如果柯文哲被拘留，是因為當局聲稱要防止「串供」，那麼為何民進黨被偵辧的立委可以大搖大擺地進入總統官邸，與總統及其他立委同僚同桌共餐？難道這不構成真正的「串供」或有其他司法關說的風險嗎？
這就是台灣的「正義」嗎？為何有人甚至連哀悼親人的權利都被剝奪，而另一些人卻能在國家權力核心場域享受特權？
真相已經再明顯不過：這不是司法，這是政治迫害！
