Whatever Happens Lets Begin and Keep the Fine Arts in CISD Schools
The Issue
Carroll ISD students and many others use fine arts as an escape from mental health struggles or family life at home, and with the recent cut of choir at the middle school level who knows what else they will do? This impacts many students at any age that struggle and we need your help.
If things stay the same and the CISD school board keeps defunding the fine arts to pay for more administrative staff and sports many kids will be without an escape. Kids who have a true talent for singing, dancing, acting, drawing, and all things alike will be ripped away from a thing they enjoy.
Right now the CISD school board has already fired two fine arts teachers and coachs at the middle school and high school levels, as well as thinking of letting go of Ryan Wilson the principal at Carroll Senior High School. The sooner we begin this fight to keep the fine arts alive the sooner more children will have a safe place again.
