“Pure” takes us deep inside a closed, secretive subculture through the eyes of a conflicted, good-hearted man trying to protect his family and preserve his faith. Inspired by true events, “Pure” is the journey of Noah Funk-newly elected Mennonite pastor-who is determined to rid his community of the scourge of drugs and its nefarious ties to a transborder smuggling alliance with ruthless Mexican cocaine cartels. But just when he thinks he’s won, he’s thrust headlong into a desperate world of violence, greed, and betrayal.

The ensemble cast for “Pure” includes: Ryan Robbins, Alex Paxton-Beesley, Jessica Clement, Dylan Everett, Gord Rand, and Zoie Palmer.

The show has received numerous accolades and has a rating of 6.9/10 on IMDb with 93% of Google users saying they like it. The series premiere was watched by 858,000 Canadian viewers. On April 12, 2017, the show was picked up by Hulu in the United States. WGN America acquired the US television rights to the series in August 2017.

Season 2 ended recently and the show has not yet been renewed for season 3. I like to say that “Pure” is the best show you’ve never heard of. But, with only 6 episodes per season, it’s hard to gain traction with viewers. With more time and promotion, we believe it can be an even greater success.
