Well, today didn't look good.
Right, If we want to succeed, we have got to do with together. I haven't had the time to properly set up the society and committee with the short notice of the meeting yesterday, so i'm speaking out to everyone.
Attack.
We have got to show our anger to the council for their decision. We must prove that this is worth while for Weymouth and it can work. We must show them the benefits, sure there's disadvantages, but the advantages are way above any point of the negatives. The council wants money, well this is an opportunity to help raise funds, and ripping up the rails will cost more than to just fill them in.
I want everyone to do what they can. Send emails, post letters, even go up to their office and explain your anger against them. Share on social media, share in you local area, do whatever you can to spread the word. I'm not asking to be mean against them, but we must protest ourselves to death to keep these rails in the roads. It is utter vandalism to destroy them in any way.
All that I ask the council for is to leave it till the end of the summer, then it will give me and my colleges time to get together a PROPER committee, a PROPER business plan and a PROPER battle against the council. We will then be able to have a better meeting, and a lot of free time to sort everything out. Its the wrong time of year at the moment, but I PROMISE that we will be bigger and better later this year.
We must not loose. I know its just some pieces of metal in the ground that has nothing to do with me. But heck, they are so, so, SO much more than that believe me. I have not seen a train go down that route, but I would like to get the trains back for other people, not just rail enthusiasts, but the general public.
So, its now or never, come on people lets get this campaign back on track!!!
