The Senate Committee has released its long anticipated report for the Inquiry into the Impact and Mitigation of Aircraft Noise.

The report falls short of recommending curfews, flight caps, or LTOPs. However, the report makes a number of recommendations that are very important and relate favourably to concerns raised by Western Sydney residents.

What is lacking from the report is proof that the economic benefits of no curfew outweigh the economic, health and social costs of no curfew.

We believe the recommendations demonstrate that the Aviation Whitepaper was published without reasonable consideration of community concerns and with aviation industry profits as the clear priority.

We believe it demonstrates that the EIS process for Western Sydney Airport flight paths has also ignored community concerns.

We call on the government to accept every one of the recommendations.

We call on the government to place conditions of approval for the WSI flight paths as per the recommendations.

We call on the government to prove that the economic benefits of a no curfew outweigh the economic, health and social costs.

We call on our local elected representatives to represent us and not the aviation industry.

We call on Minister King to meet with local community groups and give them the same consideration she has shown to aviation industry representatives.
