Western Rail Trail
Aug 31, 2018

Quick update.  In Galway the campaign for The Quiet Man Greenway the Galway section of the Western Rail Trail is going into overdrive, I urge you all to visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/213079802087801/?fref=ts and join the Quiet Man Greenway Group.

In Mayo, things are  bit slow but we are asking all supporters to keep writing to cllrs and TDs with a new focus on the two FF TDs Lisa Chambers and Dara Calleary to ask them if they agree of disagree with Micheal Martin who said last year the greenway was a no brainer - you can drop these two a line at dara.calleary@oir.ie and lisa.chambers@oir.ie  copy your email to micheal.martin@oir.ie  Ask them a simple question do they agree with their party leader that a greenway on the closed railway route is a good idea.  He called it  no brainer.  Please do this in particular if you have Mayo connections or live in Mayo and explain to these two why you want to see it happen.  you can include this link in your email - https://www.tuamherald.ie/news/roundup/articles/2017/07/26/4143516-greenway-boost-as-ff-leader-doesnt-foresee-return-of-railway/

bcc your email to brenquinn@eircom.net so we can monitor responses!

In Sligo fantastic news as our campaign friends in the Sligo greenway co-op are pushing ahead for funding under the new greenway strategy.  Lets wish sligo good luck with this submission.

Finally keep sharing and lets get the petition to 25,000 we made a big noise in the media and got good coverage at 20,000 so lets keep pushing forward.  Thanks. Brendan
