Western Rail Trail
Mar 1, 2017
As you may know by the narrowest of majorities, the casting vote of the chair, in a motion earlier this week to have a feasibility study for a greenway on the Galway section of the Western Rail Trail proposed by Cllr Shaun Cunniffe and seconded by Cllr Donagh Killalea got a result of 16 in favour, 16 against and 5 abstentions. In truth this was a great result as five years ago it would have been unthinkable to have got 16 Galway councillors to have moved in this direction. Credit where it is due and well done to those councillors who voted in favour. We now have to persuade others to come on board. So if you are a Galway reader of our updates, please ask your local councillor did you vote for or did you vote against or worst of all did you abstain. Let them know what you think. Politics is about persuasion, and the best way of persuading politicians is to let them know your views, and get others to do the same, So please in the words of Lennon and McCartney, "may I ask you once again, Try to do it my way and we can work it" .....by getting others on board. Get Petition recruiting and help us grow!!! Then the lost 16 councillors and the shy abstainers will join us in "our sky of blue and sea of green" Many thanks for listening greenway lovers. Brendan
