Our petition grows stronger, and if ever there was a reason to make us a stronger voice it came from Galway County council today, so if you want good reason to make you angry and want to go out recruit 10 20 or 30 more signatures from your friends,neighbours, relatives and your network just please read about the dinosaurs we have in Galway County council We have 1600 signatures now. 30% of all signatures come from people living Galway. Our voice in Galway is growing stronger but the council won’t even engage in the idea of a feasibility study. Cllr Shaun Cunniffe posted this on his Facebook page tonight: https://www.facebook.com/cllr.cunniffe?fref=ts "Sorry to report that a motion I propoed today at Galway County Councils Monthly meetiing to have a Feasibility Study carried out on the Athenry-Tuam-Milltown old disused Rail Alignment to advise on suitablity of using this space as a Greenway and if it ever comes to pass a Railway ,was narrowly defeated 16 votes appproved , 16 against and 5 abstentions. The Mayor exercised his casting vote and voted No. It is so dissappointing that this infrastructure will be left to rot further . Under County Council Meeting Rules I can't bring this motion forward again for 6 months. I thought today would be the day but we will keep going it will be transformational for our town when the Greenway is eventually built." SHAUN CUNNIFFE, KAREY MCHUGH AND DONAGH KILLALEA ARE RIGHT. PEOPLE NEED TO SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. WE HAVE TO MAKE OUR VOICES HEARD. GALWAY COUNTY COUNCIL AS WELL AS MAYO COUNTY COUNCIL NEED TO BE TOLD. THEIR POSITION ON THIS MATTER IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. This petition is just one way of doing this. Over the next few weeks we will be asking those who believe in this project to take other actions NOW IF YOU ARE ANGRY ABOUT GALWAY COUNTY COUNCIL GET MORE PEOPLE TO MAKE THIS PETITION GROW TO 10,000 ANGRY VOICES IN THE WEST OF IRELAND.
