Armed Robbery IS Premeditated Murder

Armed Robbery IS Premeditated Murder

The Issue

October 5th of 2015, three men unlawfully entered the home of Ronald Pruitt Sr. firing shots that resulted in his death. While Pruitt and his 16 year old son were resting in the comforts of their home they were soon awakened by gun fire. In an attempt to escape, Pruitt was shot in the hip. After he was shot in the hip, the intruders continued to shoot and he was then shot four more times.

After days of tampering with evidence the fugitives were captured. Rowdy Davis, Jeremiah Ingram, and Dakota Yoakam were finally sentenced after two years of continuances. Ingram, a prior felon, received a ten year sentence with a review to be eligible for parole in three years. Ingram was sentenced for voluntary manslaughter, armed criminal action, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm.

In three years, Jackson County will give a murderer and a person guilty to child endangerment the opportunity to kill again. Jackson County says that armed robbery is NOT a premeditated murder. Armed robbery is an attempt to murder and murder due to an armed robbery is premeditated. These intruders came in with the successful intent to steal and kill that is why it is called armed robbery. The weapons they carried served their purpose.

Is this what our safety and righteousness has come down to? Mothers and children encountering their children and parents murders on the street. Whose next to be killed when we meet?

We, the mother and family of Ronald Pruitt Sr. believe that this is inadequate justice and will continue to fight until adequate justice is served. We believe Ingram should serve his full sentence if not more in the custody of a penitentiary.

We need your help. For those of you in agreeance with us, we ask that you, the community, help us protest this unfair justice and others like this by signing this petition.
