They slapped up the barricade fences in the dead of winter. But it was a beautiful day on Wheeling Island today. I was out, and while out I looked up at the fences barricading the bridge and it made me sad. I do not believe the bridge is unsafe. But if it stands unused for a long time, it will go the way of the Bellaire bridge, abandoned and falling apart. It is NOT falling apart right now!! I VOW to walk across the bridge again.
