Ban iReady from schools

The Issue

iReady has made school not only less fun but now more stressful. It seems like everyday, at least one time, someone seems to be complaining about iReady days or just iReady in general. We spend hours of our days devoted to school and then they expect us to pass multiple lessons a week on iReady. iReady is supposed to keep up fresh with information for the Smarter Balance Test at the end of the year for us, but does it really help? Especially, because it has nothing to do with what we’re learning it can confuse us. Even teachers or principals can feel more annoyed as well. For teachers, it just takes away more class time from us. Imagine being a teacher and finding out that you have to take away YOUR Friday’s every week for iReady Reading or Math. Plus, in my school they don’t even make us do iReady in Math or Reading, we do it in Social Studies, Science, and related arts classes. As for principals, they have to make sure the teachers get us to stay on task and complete our minutes and lessons. iReady may be something helpful in others’ opinions but in my eyes I feel iReady should be banned from schools. If not that then iReady should let teachers create lessons for us that have to do with our class work. If you agree with this claim please sign this petition for a better iReady-free school!
